Did you have your life planned out when you were little? I did. I wanted to be a doctor and a mom. I was going to get married to the love of my life and live in a big house with a pool and host parties. Life had other plans for me though.
First I didn’t become a doctor. I decided that I didn’t like school that much so didn’t want to put in the time. I did stay with a medical profession though and became a Registered Respiratory Therapist. I worked in that field for over 30 years and loved it. I married who I thought was the love of my life when I was 24 and was divorced when I was 25. Well, there went that dream. As far as having kids, that wasn’t to be either. I actually met the love of my life when I was 44 and we married when I was 46. I did become a stepmother to a 16 yea old and she gave me a beautiful granddaughter but I still feel cheated out of the experience of being a mom.
Don’t get me wrong, I love my life but really wish I’d been able to have kids so they could take care of me when I got really old and senile. I need someone to decide when it’s time to put me in the home. I have 2 pups but don’t trust them to make those kinds of decisions for me.
